Andriy Shevchenko admits Clarence Seedorf’s arrival as Coach "was unexpected, but Milan really believe in him.”
The former midfielder hung up his boots five months early to replace Massimiliano Allegri on the San Siro bench.
"His arrival was unexpected. I can only wish him good fortune,” Shevchenko told segodnya.ua.
"I played alongside him for a long time and he is one of the best midfielders in Rossoneri history. The club chose him and therefore really believe in him, even if it his first experience as a Coach.
"Milan trust him and that is why he was chosen to replace Allegri. It was a shame for Allegri, but losing 4-3 to Sassuolo after leading 2-0 is really not in Milan’s style.
"The situation is not pleasing, as the Rossoneri have above all not been playing well in recent outings.”
